Fishing and Hunting

Wild trout has been referred to as Idaho’s living gem with world trophy fishing as an Idaho claim to fame. Rainbow, cutthroat and bull trout are Idaho’s native wild trout legacy.  You won’t be disappointed with Idaho’s streams and lakes along with nearby Montana’s Bull River.  Below is a partial list of Fishing charters and guides.  For a more comprehensive fishing guide, ask for this in your relocation package.

Idaho is famous for hunting with the widest variety of game in the US. Including trophy elk, mule deer, two species of bighorn sheep, antelope, bear, moose, cougar, mountain goat, white-tailed deer, waterfowl and upland game birds.

The following list is some of the outfitters available in the North Idaho area.  For a more complete list, please check Hunting/Fishing  as an interest in your free Relocation Package and it will be sent to you.

Biking and walking Trails

If you don’t mind traveling just a little further south to the Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes, you will be surprised with one of the most spectacular and popular trails in the western United States.  Believe it or not there are 73 miles of asphalt trail for bicyclist, walkers and skaters with a gentle slope compliments of the converted railroad beds. Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation (208) 682-3814  or ask us for this map in your relocation package.

Another awesome mountain bike trail is the “Route of the Hiawatha” which begins just outside of Wallace, Idaho about a 2 hour car ride from Sandpoint.  Again, it is a gentle ride created from the railroad beds and takes you through 10 tunnels and 7 sky high trestles with stunning scenery.  Rent bikes or take your own.  (208) 744-1301

More walking and biking trails

You can get maps, directions and websites from us in your free relocation package when you check the appropriate boxes while filling out your requests and interests.

Hiking Trails

Two close-in popular hikes would be The Gold Hill Trail and the Mickinnick Trail.  Gold Hill has two trail heads with good trail conditions for the moderate hike and great lake views.  Mickinnick is at the base of Schweitzer Mountain with the trail conditions as excellent for the moderate to moderate difficult hike and great lake views.  Ask for directions for both hikes and many other trails around the Sandpoint area in your relocation package.
